The 2006 reunion, hosted by the KCY Retiree group, was held September 10, 2006 at the Clasby Community Center, Savannah, Missouri. 187 registered from 10 states. Numerous door prizes were given. John Carmony from Portland, Oregon received the “Steering Wheel” award given to the person traveling the most miles to attend. Mr. Carmony related his experiences while in the employ of Consolidated Freightways.
Along with all the “hot air”, several displays of memorabilia were set up for viewing, selling, trading. The American Truck Society and the Kansas City Teamsters Retiree’s were represented, giving out door prizes and information. A home cooked meal was served.
A pre-reunion event was held at the D & G Restaurant on Saturday night, September 9, 2006 with 53 in attendance. This event will be part of the 2007 reunion and is open to all who want to attend.
